Special Treatment

This piece is for my long-suffering wife, the one who has to up-with put my perpetual witterings, which I labelled as C.E.V. in the story.

The idea for this story came from our friend Mana who has Millie, who is ‘a rescue dog with problems’.

Mana did consider getting a special collar for Millie to help control her from a distance, to modify her behaviour. I think it works by emitting a high-pitched sound, above the range of the human ear but still audible to the dog.

Another friend Mary, (I once met a girl called Maria), was kind enough to say that it is not just men like Gianni who suffer from this C.E.V.problem, and that some women she knew should also be given this new “Special Treatment”.

Web Christmas

This one was written in response to a Writers’ Circus challenge:

“Write something about Christmas or on a Christmas theme, please.”

I had to apologise when I presented it because it is not really a Christmas Story,

A few readers did not quite latch on to the idea that what they were reading was one half of a web-chat between Zalinda@ and Gianni Bontroni.

I hope you like it.

Life After Death

We sat round the table at the second session of our Creative Writing 2 class.

Some of us had come flown up from CW 1 but other were new.

David Pettigrew our Tutor set the challenge of setting down a few points about ourselves which we would be asked to read aloud to the class.

We were allowed five minutes.

A shorter version of this story appeared on the page in front of me, as if by magic.

It still makes me smile, because it 99% true.
